 New Orleans Recovery Tour

New Orleans Recovery Tour

This year, participants are welcome to attend a unique tour of the neighborhoods and communities that are recovering from the after-math of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

The tour, sponsored by Michael Baker Corporation and Photo Science, will travel to many of the heavily impacted areas throughout the city, including 17th Street Canal, 9th Ward, and the infamous MRGO.  Additionally, the tour will travel to the heart of New Orleans' recovery efforts, including Musician’s Village, Harrison Redevelopment Corridor, and Holy Cross School

Guides will be knowledgeable local GIS professionals who have worked in the recovery efforts and who have experienced this disaster first hand.

The tour is free and lunch is included.  The tour will leave at exactly 12:00 and the tour will take approximately 3 hours. Attendees will return to UNO campus in time to get on the highway before the Thursday afternoon rush hour.

Please be sure to mark on your registration form if you would like to attend the tour, so we can get an accurate headcount for the reservations.
