   The next meeting of the Louisiana GIS Council is scheduled for Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 1:30 pm in room 212 Efferson Hall on the LSU campus, Baton Rouge. Free parking is available at the building.

   urisaURISA announces the URISA Leadership Academy featuring five days of Targeted GIS Leadership Training taught by GIS Leaders. December 7-11, 2009 in Seattle, Washington.
Course Outline for ULA - Seattle
Courses are taught by proven leaders in the profession, with materials reviewed and enhanced by a team of reviewers and editors. Each course will include numerous interactive exercises, team-building tools, and opportunities to delve into topics in a way you cannot do at large conferences. Course attendance is limited in size to encourage such interaction.

LAGIC Hosts Google Sketchup Training
   sketchup LAGIC is happy to announce a Google Sketchup Training course. The event is an all day training workshop that will enable participants to become proficient in a design software program called Google SketchUp. The facilitator will train participants on the software tools, conduct tool exercises, review components and libraries, conduct practical exercises, review use in presentations and discuss upcoming issues with the software. The practical exercises will use site plans and photographs that apply to planning projects for both planners in urban and rural areas.

2010 Louisiana GIS Digital Map - Call for Data
   Baton Rouge, LA - The Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator's Office (LOSCO) and Louisiana Geographic Information Center (LAGIC) have issued a Call for Data to all who wish to contribute to the 2010 Louisiana GIS Digital Map DVD.

Production for the 2010 Louisiana Digital Map DVD has begun. If you would like to contribute new, or update existing data layers for the 2010 disc, please complete and submit the Call for Data form. Once all forms have been received, data contributors will be contacted for further details.
