USGS Quad Sheets Now Available For Download

Baton Rouge, LA - The Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LDOTD) are providing standard and high resolution USGS 7.5minute (1:24,000 scale) Quad Sheets available for free download. These map products are stored as the GeoPDF format.

Both the standard and high resolution Quad sheets support a special (free) plug-in that will allow users to perform simple spatial tasks within the PDF document.

Baton Rouge, LA - The next meeting of the Louisiana GIS Council has been scheduled for Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 1:30 pm in the Capitol Park Welcome Center, 702 River Road North , Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Free parking is available on the street and at the welcome center parking garage.

2010 Louisiana GIS Digital Map - Call for Data

Baton Rouge, LA - The Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator's Office (LOSCO) and Louisiana Geographic Information Center (LAGIC) have issued a Call for Data to all who wish to contribute to the 2010 Louisiana GIS Digital Map DVD.

Production for the 2010 Louisiana Digital Map DVD has begun. If you would like to contribute new, or update existing data layers for the 2010 disc, please complete and submit the Call for Data form. Once all forms have been received, data contributors will be contacted for further details.

ArcGIS Desktop 9.3 Training

Lake Charles, LA - The Louisiana Geographic Information Center (LAGIC) and McNeese State University present a series of ArcGIS 9.3 Training Workshops beginning on July 23 through August 5, 2009.

This training is designed specifically for all levels of GIS users to hone in and refine their Mapping & GIS skills. All training includes ESRI certified materials, booklets, certificates, and 60 days ArcGIS 9.3 evaluation software.
